The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for today for all of southern Minnesota for gusts as high as 45 mph, in effect until 7:00 pm this evening.

The Wind Advisory includes Yellow Medicine, Redwood, Brown, Watonwan, Blue Earth,
Waseca, Steele, Martin, Faribault and Freeborn Counties.

Southwest winds around 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to around 45 mph are expected today.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Travel may be hazardous on east west highways in open areas, including Interstate 90 and US Highway 14 and particularly for high profile vehicles.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
