After the coronavirus outbreak hit the U.S., Walmart changed its return policy and prohibited returns on many items. However, earlier this summer, it made returning some items easier-- except for in some states, Minnesotan being one of them. Here are the items we still can't return to Walmart here in Minnesota.

Thanks to the coronavirus outbreak, Walmart said earlier this year that returns were temporarily paused in Arkansas, California, Illinois and South Carolina. But that has changed, and as of now, in-store returns and exchanges are available for any purchases that took place between April 20 and June 29 in the following states: Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Wyoming. Customers can return items with a receipt by Sept. 29.

However, due to statewide rules and local ordinances throughout the Land of 10,000 Lakes, returns are STILL not allowed at Walmart on these certain items:

Food
Paper goods
Home cleaning supplies
Laundry soap
Pharmacy
Health & beauty
Apparel items

So, what are we supposed to do if you want to return, say, an apparel item? Well, there IS a way, you can return some of those items-- even here in Minnesota. According to this EatThis,NotThat story, 'Walmart offers online returns for customers that have a receipt. In order to do so, you simply go to the Walmart app or their website and fill out the form for a return.' So if you're still in a restricted state, like here in Minnesota, the story says, simply head to their website and start the process to return it online.
