State Representative John Petersburg was a guest on AM 1390's Talk of the Town. When the legislature convenes one of the issues weighing on the mind of Petersburg is still the completion of Highway 14 between Owatonna and Dodge Center. Petersburg thinks it can help if constituents go to the Corridors of Commerce web site and click on Project Recommendations and then offer your thoughts on Highway 14. Comments will be accepted through February 5.

Petersburg also feels MNSure is still a topic to be addressed. He believes there may be a need for some rethinking as to how Minnesotans can do other things in regards to their health in addition to what insurance can provide.

Petersburg is Vice Chair of Transportation and explains the importance of fixing MNLARs. This entity is not only responsible for titles and licenses for motor vehicles but will also be responsible later this year for the Real ID. He reports that an outside consultant has been hired to work with the Minnesota IT folks in an attempt to get things running smoothly or at least smoother by this fall when REAL ID time comes. The Minnesota Legislature convenes February 20.
