Minnesota. Maine. Upstate New York. The Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Practically anywhere in Idaho. And of course, the Rockies or the Sierra Nevada Mountains. These are the parts of the Lower 48* where weather history suggests you want to be if you're looking for the best chance of a white Christmas.

As for the Southern Minnesota forecast, there's a couple of chances of significant snow in the next week -- so that white Christmas is looking pretty good for 2022.

The National Weather Service says that we can expect 3 to 5 inches of new snow Thursday afternoon into Friday morning, with another storm on the horizon around Tuesday of next week.
