At Byron High School's Wednesday night basketball game something very special happened. Bode Brown is a freshman in Byron, Minnesota and he has a love for football and basketball. However, a heart transplant at the age of 6 weeks old has restricted his participation in sports.

While Bode is still involved with the basketball team, he typically doesn't play in the games. That is until this past Wednesday. ABC 6 says that the basketball coach, Coach Morris, and Bode's teammates were all in on the plan and kept it a secret from Bode.

They had their final game of the season this past Wednesday against Zumbrota-Mazeppa and with about 10 minutes left in the game, Bode hit the court with his own team jersey. He told ABC 6 that he was nervous and excited but overall it was fun.

His teammates and the crowd were also incredibly excited. Bode ended up scoring 5 points for his team in the last 10 minutes and they walked away the winners. Both Bode and Coach Morris are hoping that he'll be able to play even more in the years to come. I'm not sure what Bode would need to do in order to be cleared by his doctor to play more, but since he has such a love for the sport I hope he gets to play more as well!
