Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial, official, start of summer in Minnesota. Plenty of families pack up and head north to spend time away from home with friends and family. But what if you could get away, leave it all behind, and not have to drive hours away? A Lonsdale-area vineyard is offering a unique camping experience that takes place steps away from the growing grapes. Prairie Woods Farm Vineyard Camp has just ONE campsite, but it is award-winning. Here's what you need to know about camping at this close-by location.

According to HipCamp.com, the vineyard was a Best of 2022 MN finalist, and is described by the website as having "Just one site [which] means relaxed, quiet camping! Pitch a tent and recharge at Prairie Woods Farm! 35 minutes south of the Twin Cities, 7 miles west of I-35 at the Northfield exit. The site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and an amazing vineyard view with incredible sunsets most evenings. Retreat to the screened "She shed" or roam the vineyards or woods."

The price to camp, through HipCamp.com, is $35 a night, with room for just 4 people. So Prairie Woods camping site is a very intimate location. The sunsets are said to be spectacular as you gaze out over the vines, towards the rolling hills, enjoying the peaceful solitude and the natural quiet that will follow you out of your tent and into the rows of grapes growing.

While you are enjoying your camping experience you might not realize that you are actually in the heart of Minnesota wine-growing country, as the vineyard has several other wineries located nearby.  HipCamp.com states that "within a few square miles, there are 4 different vineyards growing over 30 tons of grapes for local wineries." Next Chapter in Montgomery, Vintage Escapes in Killkenny, Mousse sparkling wines in Jordan or Cannon Valley in Cannon Falls.

With only one campsite available, you'll have to book early, as the warmer weather will mean more people wanting to get out and enjoy Minnesota at its best.

All of the Internet is Shocked at Sign Hung in Wisconsin Home for Sale

A house that went on the market in Onalaska, Wisconsin in April is absolutely gorgeous but there is one small thing hanging on a wall that has everyone doing a double-take. Oh, and someone lost their sunglasses in a pretty random spot too. (See if you can find where those lost sunglasses are in the photos.)

This home at W6547 Woodland Pass in Onalaska, Wisconsin was built in 1989 and sits on 1.53 acres that are pretty wooded. Lots of space indoors too with 3,600 square feet and 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The house did go into pending status pretty fast but you can see the full listing by Realtor Spencer Hegenbarth at RE/MAX Results on Realtor.com here.
