Sunday morning, Northfield firefighters were called out to the Woodbridge Apartments. Northfield Area Fire and Rescue Service Chief Gerry Franek told the Northfield News, that the fire was reported shortly after 9 am when someone living in the top floor unit at 1910 Roosevelt Dr. off Jefferson Parkway, awoke and discovered the fire, he woke up his mother, they got out and called 911.

Quick reaction by the fire department kept the fire to one bedroom but smoke likely heavily damaged the rest of the apartment.

The Red Cross was helping out residents that were maybe displaced. The fire department said other third floor units may have been damaged. The State Fire Marshall was there on Sunday to investigate the cause of the fire. Nothing suspicious was reported. Crews were done by 11 am and there were no injuries to tenants or firefighters.
