Owatonna girls soccer had four different scorers while beating Mankato East 4-1 Tuesday at Kennedy Elementary in Mankato. The win snapped a two-game slide that included a last-minute loss to Century and a shutout against highly-ranked Eagan.

On Tuesday, Grace Wolfe opened the scoring early in the match with an assist from Anna Herzog on a "beautiful ball behind the back line," as proclaimed by @OHSGirlsSoccer on Twitter. The Huskies went ahead 2-nil on Ela Breuer's tally about seven minutes into the match with the assist from Asia Buryska.

Just before halftime, "Anna Herzog with another assist!! Ari Shornock with her first varsity goal!! Huskies up 3-0 with 9 minutes left in the first half." Herzog scored from Wolfe for a 4-0 advantage at the break.

Owatonna (3-3-1, 2-1 in Big Nine play) hosts Albert Lea Thursday, September 12 at the Lincoln Soccer Complex at 7 pm.

The Owatonna boys extended their unbeaten streak to four games with their third tie over the last two weeks, following a 1-1 draw with Mankato East in Owatonna Tuesday. The Huskies (1-2-3, 0-0-3) play at Albert Lea Thursday at 7 pm with coverage on Kat Kountry 105 FM and the Kat Kountry 105 app.

In other Owatonna sports Tuesday, the girls tennis team lost 6-1 to top-five ranked Rochester Mayo. The Huskies' victory came at No. 2 singles with Megan Johnson. All four of Owatonna's losses this season have come to top ten rated teams. Three of the four (Mayo, Century and Lakeville North) are also in the Huskies' section.

Owatonna volleyball lost 3-0 to defending Big Nine champ Northfield, who is rated No. 2 in Class AAA in the latest coaches poll. In other volleyball, Medford swept St. Clair 3-0 and Triton beat Rochester Lourdes 3-0.
