Owatonna sophomore Kaitlyn Madole slammed two more home runs Saturday, in a 3-2 ten-inning win at defending AAA state champion Winona. That gives her five homers in the last three games and one of those games is a suspended contest with Rochester Century that will be completed Monday. The Huskies lead that game 6-5 over Century in the fifth inning. It was suspended by lightning last Tuesday. OHS will travel to John Marshall Monday after concluding their game with the Panthers.

Madole has two homers and a triple for five RBI's in the game at Century. She hit a grand slam on Thursday and drove in seven runs in a 14-1, five-inning win over Austin.

She hit a pair of solo home runs on Saturday in a makeup game at Winona, which came a week after the Huskies lost to the top-ranked Winhawks 5-4 in ten innings in the third place game of the Shakopee tournament. Owatonna has won three straight to improve to 4-5 on the season.

Huskies' coach Brian Pilcher says Madole was in a bit of a slump to start the season, "She's made a couple of minor adjustments. She's a very modest kid and she just goes it their and does her business. And boy is she doing her business." Pilcher says over the team is, "playing ball and having fun" and learning some things about themselves from their recent losses.

After the split doubleheader Monday in Rochester, the Huskies host Albert Lea in a standard double dip at Morehouse Tuesday, May 8 at 4 pm. Thursday OHS entertains defending Big Nine champion Mankato West at 5 pm in a makeup game that will be carried on KRFO AM 1390 and on the KRFO app (a free download). Find out all about it.
