Minneapolis Brewery Is Making A Fascinating And Inviting Expansion
Minneapolis is gaining a new and modern fun space for one of its modern breweries!
Modist Brewing, which open in 2016, is a brewery on 505 N. 3rd St. in Minneapolis that is past traditional brewing by “embracing creativity and unconstrained experimentation,” as described on their About Page.
Modist Brewing shares the following:
We created a custom-built brewhouse that allows us to make the beers we want to make. It’s centered around the region’s first mash filter. This piece of equipment allows us to use any grain in any percentage – and do so while using a fraction of the water and energy of a traditional brewery.
And now they are expanding their current building to hold so much more!
Modist Brewing is currently overseeing a $2 million, 7,000-square-foot renovation to “not only create a brand new, multi-level, mural-infested, mirrored-ceilinged, neon-overdosed, brewer zoo of an event space. [Their] also adding brand new employee offices, an employee lounge, and a science lab filled with beakers, microscopes, things that shake things, and other science things,” exclaims Modist on their website.
Bring Me the News also shared an article on the renovation, to which that explain that "detached from the existing taproom, the renovation of the existing brick industrial building features a flexible, two-story event space. The renovation also includes a pre-function bar and waiting area."
They also noted that Modist will have "glitter concrete floor, large murals, dichroic glass, and mirrored ceilings with mounted neon fixtures."
As of now, the new event space should be completed by mid-July of this year, and Modist makes it clear that they will throw a big party when it opens!
Daniel Paul Willendorf, owner of Modist Brewing shared the following with Bring Me The News on their new space and lovely team:
Our team intentionally involved various user groups to build a North Loop modern, tricked-out, punk rock- and chic-designed event space to be welcoming and inclusive of many communities and uses. Group gatherings of all kinds are back, and this will be a community space perfectly suited for a corporate presentation, happy hour, a wedding party or to take your dog's birthday party to the next level.
