Owatonna's boys basketball team went on the road and upset No. 2AAA Red Wing Tuesday 47-41. The OHS girls won 76-59 to complete the season sweep.

The OHS boys held Red Wing without a field goal for the opening 14 minutes of the game on the way to an 18-13 halftime lead. The Huskies pushed their lead to double figures for parts of the second half. Mason Thein led Owatonna with 17 points. Jay Sullivan scored 12. Owatonna (14-11, 11-10 in Big Nine) closes the season hosting No. 6AAA Austin on Friday night at 7:30PM on KRFO AM 1390. Red Wing (23-2, 19-2) needs to win at Rochester John Marshall on Friday to earn a share of the Big Nine championship.

The OHS junior varsity boys team won 71-32 at Red Wing. The Huskies JV goes for the unbeaten season Friday night.

Owatonna's girls traded the lead with Red Wing six times in the first half. The Huskies went up 40-33 at the half and led by double digits much of the second half. Sydney Schultz scored 29 points for the Huskies. Rachel Williamson added 22. It was kids' night, with most of the city's youth girls basketball players gathering for a group picture on the varsity court. OHS (13-9, 11-7) hosts Mankato West on Thursday at 7:30PM in a make-up game. Owatonna goes to Austin on Friday at 7:30PM. Both games will be on Kat Kountry 105FM.
