Gustavus Adolphus junior and Owatonna High School graduate Briana Hartmann won the ITA Midwest Regional singles title Sunday to earn All-America honors, according to a news release from the Gustavus Adolphus Sports Information Department. Hartmann, who advanced to state several times during her high school days, won in straight sets over Jillian Wallace of UW-Whitewater 6-1, 6-1.

Coach Jon Carlson is quoted to say, "Bri played unbelievable today. She was very sharp mentally and was great in chasing down balls. She executed her game plan perfectly." He added, "It was great to have the whole team there as well. I think the cheering actually had an impact on the overall result."

Hartmann advances to the ITA Oracle Cup October 11-15 in Rome, GA.

Another OHS grad had a good day this weekend. Winona State University senior Carter McCauley went 4-for-4 on field goal attempts in the Warriors' 47-7 win at Minot State University. He connected on a 47-yard, which is a season-long for him. McCauley holds the school record of 59 yards, set in 2015.

The Warriors are 4-0 and host Upper Iowa University Saturday September 30 at 1PM in Winona.
