The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday, October 28. It's a day to make that extra effort to properly dispose of your outdated and no longer used prescription drugs.

Last year's take back saw 5,498 sites collect around 450 tons in old prescriptions. The reasons to turn them in are obvious. It not only prevents that temptation of someone illegally taking and using them, but also cuts down the chances of a youngster accidentally swallowing something they shouldn't.

Andi Gaffke is the head of the Steele County Safe and Drug Free Coalition and will be a guest on AM 1390's Talk of the Town on November 9 at 9:40AM. Listen and learn more. She how you can dispose of your old and expired prescription drugs in Steele County.
