Several local high school football teams have made it through the first three weeks of the season without a loss. Owatonna, Blooming Prairie and Medford face varying degrees of resistance as they prepare for the midway point of the season.

Medford has one blowout victory and two come-from-behind triumphs for their first 3-0 start in quite some time. The Tigers go to Mayer-Lutheran (2-1) Friday night. The Crusaders were state semifinalists in 2017 with their only loss this season to top-ten ranked United South Central. The Tigers are getting votes in the AP poll.

Owatonna has sailed to victory in three straight games, even though they spotted Mayo a 9-0 lead in week two. The No. 1 Huskies host Rochester John Marshall (0-3) for homecoming Friday night at 7 pm. The Rockets nearly knocked off top-ten rated Winona in week one then got routed by Northfield and top-five ranked Mankato West. Huskies senior Jason Williamson, a Golden Gophers commit, is up for the Minnesota Football Hub performer of the week after his 337-yard, 5-touchdown effort against Austin.

No. 5 Blooming Prairie has scored at least 40 points in each of their games and faces a Winona Cotter team that has been shutout twice. The teams meet at 7 pm Friday at Winona State University with the game on Kat Kountry 105. With the Kat Kountry app you can listen live to area football each Friday night.

NRHEG (2-1) plays Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (1-2) Friday in Winthrop. GFW played close with top-ten rated Maple River in one of their losses. Triton (0-3) has faced three top-ten teams already and plays at unbeaten St. Charles this week.
