Southern Minnesota, Give a Warm Welcome to Radio’s Newest Member, Kinsey!

Hello Southern Minnesota, my name is Kinsey, and I am Kat Kountry 105’s newest DJ and content creator. Here is a chance to get to know me, as I say hello to the community!

To begin, I am a 22-year-old woman, who just graduated From Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. After being a college radio DJ for four years and a Music Director for two years at Luther’s radio station, I decided to continue pursuing this career with the help of my Communication Studies degree. With my job as a Music Director, I was given many new singles and albums from smaller artists around the world, and I was able to listen to their music and then send out my favorites to our thirty other DJs! I am what you call a music fanatic, so this career and this wonderful opportunity at Kat Kountry seemed quite fitting!

You can find me either reading a thriller novel, binging the latest shows on Netflix, spending time with friends, listening to new music or music from my favorite artists, or attending a concert! My favorite artists include Halsey, Harry Styles, Wallows, 5 Seconds of Summer, Fleetwood Mac, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and many, many more! I was a bit sad when Covid hit because the summer of 2020, I originally had six concerts lined up, but since then I have been able to attend almost all of them!

I am originally from the suburbs of the Twin Cities, specifically Lakeville and Apple Valley, but once I lived in Decorah I began to fall in love with the community of smaller towns! I look forward to learning more about the surrounding communities of Owatonna and Faribault, and I am very excited to be a part of a place and company with so much love and appreciation for our community!
