2018 Owatonna High School graduates Sydney Schultz and Jenna Zeman were together again on the floor of the OHS gym just before Christmas, not as players but on the radio during halftime to discuss their transition to college hoops. Schultz plays with Division II Concordia-St. Paul and Zeman is starting at Division III Wisconsin-River Falls.

Schultz is enjoying the intensity of the college game and the level of play. She says she needs to work on her shooting and ball handling while adjusting to play more of a guard than the post position she played while becoming Owatonna's all-time leading scorer.

As of January 2, the Golden Bears are 8-3 on the season. Their next home game is Friday, January 11 against Southwest Minnesota State at 5:30 pm in St. Paul.

Zeman called her experience so far "amazing," as she starts for the Falcons, averaging about 30 minutes, 9.5 points, three assists and two steals per game. She had a 21-point game in mid-December. Zeman calls the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference one of the toughest in Division III and says the goal this season is to make the NCAA Tournament.

River Falls is 6-5 as they enter conference play January 2.
